From easy family hikes to high Alpine tours, the Upper Venosta Valley offers hikers a large number of beautiful and challenging routes. Here you will find some suggestions for hikes and walks around Glorenza and its environs.
A rewarding hike with Glorenza as the starting point is the hike up to the easily scalable Glurnser Koepfl (2349 m). Due to its isolated location at the valley bend, it also offers an excellent panoramic view.
This particular cultural monument is located on the slope of an alluvial fan. In 1993, archaeologists discovered an ancient church under the floor of the current one with a round apse and numerous Romanesque frescoes, of which many fragments have been since unearthed. Today, these Byzantine-influenced frescoes can be visited in the renovated church.
